Recently on the WCNY radio program you made statements concerning certain New Yorkers. In case you forgot it, here's what you said:
“Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and if they are the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”
Let me inform you about these extreme conservatives. First of all they have the right to think the way they do. Secondly these people you dislike are also educated, hard working, tax paying, God fearing, church going citizens who also volunteer for the local fire departments, ambulance corps, and youth sports, and do not use the social services the government provides. You stated that they do not have a place in the state of New York. Don't worry Governor, they are no longer here. You and your predecessors (especially your father) as well as the Assembly and Senate pushed them out of the Empire State. These people were taxed and regulated right out of New York. Ever increasing taxes, fees, licencing, tolls, and regulations made it difficult for the middle class and businesses to stay in New York. Here's a short list of companies that left New York, or shed its workforce: General Electric, Oneida Ltd, General Motors, Kodak, Xerox, Miller Brewing, Nestle, Carrier, IBM, and Remington Arms are looking for a new state to move to.
The end result: 3.4 million people left New York in 10 years. I am included in this number. These people are the educated tax payers that provided jobs and tax revenue. These people did not burden the social service system. The people moving to New York now? Low skilled immigrants, not proficient in English, burdening the social welfare system. The people that remain are the people who are either retired, work for government, or works a service job, or is a burden to the taxpayer!
If you want to rid New York of all conservatives, keep doing what you are doing, they will leave eventually.
